Despite another record year of extreme weather, we are finally settling into the winter season. And believe it or not, the holidays are just around the corner. That means the season of giving is also upon us.
As I move nearer to the end of my first year with the Network I am reflecting on what I’ve learned, what I love, and what I care for and value in our work. All of it is wrapped up in our mission to eliminate environmental health threats to human health for all Marylanders.
At the Network we have been fortunate to spend the year developing deeper relationships. We have fought alongside friends and neighbors, in community, for statewide health protections despite a changing climate that is trending negatively and impacting our reciprocal relationship to the land. We have educated legislators on the health implications of policy and are grateful for the diversity of our partnerships. We really are better, when we collaborate together.
This season, we hope that you stand with us at Maryland Environmental Health Network and remember us in your end of year giving. From fracking to flooding we live our mission. We firmly believe that everyone deserves a safe and healthy environment regardless of income, education, occupation, social class, gender, race, ethnicity or zip code.
With your support we will continue to advance strong public health policies and aggresively seek equity as we push for resilient humanity and environmental justice for all Marylanders. Looking ahead, our focus areas will continue to include Climate & Energy, Vulnerable Population Health, and Toxics & Chemical Exposure Protections.
To support this work, please consider giving to the Maryland Environmental Health Network this #GivingTuesday on November 28 and through the end of the year. As a non profit organiztion, your contribution will be tax deductible.
Each gift helps sustain this important work and allows us to reach further on behalf of Marylanders.
This #GivingTuesday, please stand with us as we push for signs of equity in healthy environments for all!
